What were the sights that affected you when you returned to the south?
Corpses were thrown on the paths - these sights affected me a lot - in addition to the bombed roads. These sights annoyed me when I returned and made me hopeless. Many places were full of burnt trees. Besides that, the destroyed houses made me sad. I was thinking where those displaced would live.

What happened when the two soldiers were arrested?
I prepared my bag and all my belongings while my sisters and brothers distributed sweets and candy: I can't describe their happiness.

Where did you stay during the war and how were you received?
I stayed at my aunt's house in Beirut. They received me with pleasure. It was nice hospitality that I hadn't expected - all that sacrifice and extravagance in receiving us.

Who helped you during that tribulation and lessened your tensions?
My cousins helped me and lessened my burden - because they are small they like play and have fun, and they got me to join them as I am the youngest among my brothers and sisters. My relatives put every effort with me and my sister Mariam to make me happy and forget all that happened to me and the shock that I had during my escape.

How much damage did you encounter during and after the war?
The damage that I encountered was small, though blood of martyrs is very expensive. They are our families and relatives, so how can I hide my sadness even though I haven't lost my house or anyone?

Who are the persons that you lost?
They are dear people to my heart. They are my family and friends in the south. I haven't heard of their news for 33 days, I couldn't see any of them or even talk to them because they were busy.

What are the changes that you noticed?
People were optimists before the war and they were ambitious also. After the war they became pessimistic and haunted by fear. Besides sickness such as chronic nervous ailments, dangerous diseases spread.

Did you leave the country and were you afraid?
No, I didn't leave the country, but I was very afraid I might lose friends or relatives or that I would be able to return to our house.

Did you see all your friends? And what would your reaction be had any of them died?
Yes, I saw all of my friends after the war. If any of them had died, I would feel very sad and I would miss him or her a lot. I hope the enemy would recognize that children are innocent.

How many days did you stay in Tibnine?
I stayed 12 days. I was expecting the end of aggression between then and now, but I didn’t imagine it would last for long as it did nor that Lebanon would be the winner - because of the blood of his strong and brave martyrs.
