mapping memories part two: hiba atwiHi, my name is Hiba Atwi. I am 18 years old, I was born on 1 October 1988. I am from South Lebanon. I live in a quiet place called Zibquin. I have two brothers and one sister. My father worked in the Lebanese army and my mother is a housewife. My favourite pastimes are to listen to music and to sit by the sea and watch the moon. I am a very sensitive and romantic girl. I would like to be a graphic designer. Before the war, I didn't go anywhere and I didn't have many friends. My life was very boring, reading stories, watching TV and sleeping. But this war taught me a lot, it taught me about life and death. I felt that at any moment, any of my friends can loose his or her life, and this can happen so fast, without me even having the time to understand. I lost Mohammad, who was very dear to me, hew was my teacher but also my friend who watched out for me. After the war, my life has changed, I have learned to use every moment and every minute. I met new friends and I understand better what it is to be alive. |
