mapping memories part two: fatmeh bzei- spaces of refuge

Hi! I am Fatima Bzei. I was born on 6 March 1984. I am a Lebanese girl from Zibquin, in the South of Lebanon. I finished my university studies and now I am a biochemistry teacher. I have two brothers and five sisters. I volunteered with Save the Children and did a lot of summer activities for children; I like to help who is in need. I am a girl who hates to loose time, so I always try to fill my time with activities. My favourite sport is swimming, and I like dancing and walking too. Whenever I feel sad, I go to the sea and watch the waves. I hope to be able to continue my studies and get a PhD. Being alone and loosing friends is what I hate in life and this is what I got from the war. In my pictures I tried to get a photo of each place I shared and went to with my friends. I like these places a lot because I spent most of my free time there, playing laughing, dancing, eating and enjoying life. After the war, many of my friends left Lebanon, and some left Zibquin, because of that I am trying to fill my time with workshops, and this workshop was very nice.

My friend's shop where I spent good times with my friends, putting chairs in the middle of the road, having hubble bubble.

Zibquin from a far place. I went many times to this place with my friends to enjoy the beauty of Zibquin.

The perfect place to forget all problems, and feel comfortable. I can enjoy the beautiful scene of the sea and hills and the sunset.

I like this place because I used to come with my friends here to have tea and play cards.

This is the place where I had my birthday party and had a good time.

Whenever my friend wanted to meet with her boyfriend she used to escape and hide in the mosque until her dad goes out. Then she would call her boyfriend.

My favourite place, where we used to play cards, laugh, eat and enjoy our time by listening to music.
