The workshop in Bint Jbeil aimed to help young girls and boys communicate personal stories through digital photography and video, in particular by building narratives around the space where they live, and their intimate belongings.
Other than being an initial training for operating digital cameras, this workshop was an attempt to make contributors aware of the importance of recording the everyday; banalities are sometimes more important than headlines. The young people who took part were asked to tell stories about themselves, looking at their living space to uncover hopes and desires they could express to others visually. These were found amongst fashion, flowers, war trauma, love, and fun.
