workshop: this is the story of… (3)

We learned how to encourage and ask questions that would push the participants to think in a different way about what they like.

We learned how to direct them while leaving them their space.

We particularly enjoyed their company and the sharing of interests!

The works produced are very diverse, but they all made use of images together with sound and/or writing/ texts.

Lara produced a visual poem. She chose a poem and interpreted it with images where she stages herself. The poem was inserted in the image and music was added as well. View the video.

Leila produced a slide show gathering some photographs ranging from her departure from Lebanon in 2006 to her return to the country one year later. The images used have different sources: photographs documenting her departure, her friends, her life in the USA, as well as images she particularly liked drawn from the web. She chose two music tracks to accompany the piece. View the video.
Amal produced a calendar/letter that she will send to her cousins in America waiting for their visit to Lebanon in the summer. The calendar acts as a count-down to their arrival (4 months). For each month (april/may/june/july), Amal chose a theme and selected photographs in relation to that theme. A letter to her family in the USA was also inserted. View the gallery.
Rayan: Rayan took a photograph of a homeless man in the shelter he had built for himself with recuperated material. Together with the photograph, the sound of a small interview she had carried with him was inserted. View the video.
